About "Something Or Nothing At All"
"Something Or Nothing At All" was written during a dark time—isolated in a new country and in a rough relational patch. Writing the song helped make sense of what was happening while finding some escape and solace in creating a song that pulled together the tension and release experienced. Stylistically the song originated as a creative brief "what would a CAROUSELS version of the Beatles "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" sound like. Missing the mark, but landing somewhere new, the track combines neo-soul keys, psychedelic riff rock, boom-bap drum breaks, and jazz elements, seamlessly shifting time signatures—creating a slow burner that takes the listener through a range of the devastating emotions explored through the lyrics.

About CAROUSELS
CAROUSELS is the psychedelic music project of multi-instrumentalist Matthew Walko. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, CAROUSELS started in 2022 when Matthew relocated to Copenhagen, Denmark. The music mixes indie rock, classic soul and psychedelic influences creating sophisticated tracks that move the body, pull on the heartstrings and tend to stay in your head. The CAROUSELS live band consist of a multi-national line-up with players from Canada, England, and Denmark and currently perform in and around Copenhagen. In 2023, CAROUSELS released a series of singles with international press recognition and playlist adds, including "City Surround Me", "The Fine Line", "Get Enough (Can't Get Enough)", "I Can't Stop the Rain from Falling", and "In The City". On April 5th, the band released its latest single—the psych rock, neo-soul romp "Something Or Nothing At All".
