"City Surround Me" is an indie rock banger that bridges swaggering psych-garage riff rock and 90's acid-house beats—calling back to the early days of Brit Pop where bands like the Stone Roses and Blur reigned supreme. The lyrics wrestle with the existential spiral and fear of modern life while finding escape and solace within the embrace of the city. The song was written, recorded, and produced by Matthew Walko (CAROUSELS), mixed by Juno-nominated engineer, Ryan Worsley in Vancouver, Canada and mastered by Valentin Kruse in Copenhagen, Denmark.

About CAROUSELS
CAROUSELS is the psychedelic music project of multi-instrumentalist Matthew Walko. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, CAROUSELS started in 2022 when Matthew relocated to Copenhagen, Denmark. The music mixes indie rock, classic soul and psychedelic influences creating sophisticated tracks that move the body, pull on the heartstrings and tend to stay in your head. The CAROUSELS live band consist of a multi-national line-up with players from Canada, England, and Denmark and currently perform in and around Copenhagen. In 2023, CAROUSELS released a series of singles with international press recognition and playlist adds, including "The Fine Line", "Get Enough (Can't Get Enough)", "I Can't Stop the Rain from Falling", and "In The City". On March 1st, the band will release its next single—a riff rock banger with a slice of 90's house —"City Surround Me".
